Orchesella (лат.) — род коллембол из семейства Entomobryidae (Orchesellinae). Около 100 видов. Встречаются повсеместно, но главным образом в Голарктике.
Описание
Относительно крупные ногохвостки с вытянутым телом, длина около 5 мм (от 2,5 до 6,0 мм). Тело покрыто как короткими торчащими волосками, так и длинными торчащими щетинками на голове, груди и брюшке. Длина усиков обычно больше половины длины тела. Четвертый брюшной сегмент в два раза длиннее третьего брюшного сегмента[2]. Имеют контрастную окраску с тёмными полосам на светлом фоне. Тело без чешуек. Усики 6-члениковые (вторично разделены первый и второй членики). На теменном поле 8+8 глазков. Денс без шипов[3][4][5].
Отмечены среди пионеров заселения зелёного лесного опада[6]. У представителей рода обнаружена лучшая выживаемость ювенильных особей по сравнению с имаго. Например у Orchesella villosa молодь может переохлаждаться до минус 15,9°, а имаго — только до минус 5,1°[7]. Многие виды относят к жизненной форме атмобионтов (обитатели макрофитов, травостоя, кустарников, деревьев, поверхности рыхлой подстилки)[8][9].
Классификация
В составе рода описано около 100 видов, включая ископаемый † Orchesella eocaena Handschin, 1926[10][11][12]. Род был впервые описан в 1836 году ирландским энтомологом Робертом Темплтоном (Robert Templeton, 1802—1892)[13]. Включён в состав подсемейства Orchesellinae, наиболее примитивного из семейства Entomobryidae по признаку наличия мукро с двумя зубцами и базальным шипом[4].
