| Описание | Card sent from Revel, May 16, 1908. Postmarked by the railway station post office, 'cross-date' type used from 1898 to 1910 bearing code numbers 1 and 2. There are two subtypes which differ in the usage of the cyrillic letter Yat, ѣ. The shown card bears the postmark with number 1 and is the early type which was used from 1901 to 1908. In the word ЖЕЛѣЗНОДОР(ОЖНЫЙ) or ZHELEZNODOR(OZHNYI) translated as Railway, Yat is the second letter (fourth letter is Е). The later type which was used from 1909 to 1910 has as the second letter Е and as fourth letter the ѣ (Yat). After this postmark an oval shaped cancel was used (1911-1917). |
