| Описание | Complete ring made from plaited silver wire. Each strand of the plait consists of four wires. The wires in each strand are parallel, though now distorted. The sides of the ring are not straight; they are C-shaped in cross-section, with the exterior of the ring convex and the interior concave. The ring is now slightly squashed, and measures 16.04 mm x 13.95 mm externally and 11.14 mm x 8.92 mm internally, and weighs 0.98g Similar rings made of plaited groups of silver wires are known across the country; they vary in size, shape and tightness of plait (e.g. SF-DF1B38, LANCUM-D87896 and SF-64D062). It is thought that these rings are probably modern (and hence not subject to the Treasure Act 1996) but their function and exact date are unknown. |
